Upcoming Expressways in India - Connecting the Nation's Progress

Delhi- Mumbai Expressway is being industrialized as part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana. It is part of phase 1 which gives over 1350 km. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) purposes to complete the expressway by 2023. The speciality of this expressway is that every 100 km, it will have disturbance centres for victims who meet accidents and 93 rest stops on the entire route. Not to disturb the Indian wildlife, the sound of related music will be used as horns and sirens. Also, it is the first freeway that will have 12 helipads on the highway from Delhi to Mumbai. The distance between Delhi and Mumbai will be enclosed in 12.5 hours when the expressway gets working.

The first eight lanes raised the urban expressway in India, linking Mahipalpur in Delhi to Kherki Daula Toll Plaza, Haryana. The Dwarka expressway will decrease the road traffic on NH-8 and be used by 3 lakh passengers every day. It is a 29.10 km lengthy project, 18.9 km in Gurgaon and 10.1 km in Delhi. The expressway routines an Intelligent Transportation System to offer information about time, delays, speed, road accidents, diversions, route variations and work zone areas. The motorway should reduce the time required to commute from Mumbai to Nagpur to eight hours. The current travel time between Nagpur and Mumbai is 14 to 15 hours. A 150 km/h speed limit will be supported on one of its roadways. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has postponed finishing the motorway, which was originally scheduled to open in 2021.

Ganga Expressway is a six-lane highway project that would join NH 334 in Meerut to NH 2 Prayagraj Bypass. This expressway decreased the travel time from 12 hours to 6 hours between Meerut and Prayagraj. It flinches from Bijoli village in Meerut and dismisses at Judapur Dandu village of Prayagraj. In 2020, the 109 km long expressway's land purchase for the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project (DMIC) was completed. Sadbhav Engineering, GVH India, and DRA Infracon are building the motorway.

It is a significant futur7e motorway in southern India. Bangalore and Chennai, the capital cities of two key states in southern India, are connected by this four-lane motorway. The Stretch spans three states—Karnataka's Hoskote and Bangarpet, Andhra Pradesh's Palamaner and Chittoor, and Tamil Nadu's Sriperumbudur—for a distance of 260 kilometres. Vehicles can move at a 120 km/hr speed, reducing the trip by 50 km.  

This 6-lane motorway, which is part of the Raipur-Visakhapatnam corridor, is 464 kilometres long (NH-130CD and EC-15). In the central and eastern Indian states of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, it succeeds through the red corridor. . The travel time will be reduced from 14 hours to 7 hours, and the remoteness will be condensed to 464 km from 590 km.

Bundelkhand Expressway is a four-lane expressway that links Gonda village to Kudrail village in Etawah. Its goal is to link Bundelkhand with Delhi NCR through the Yamuna Expressway. It is an contact-measured expressway that runs for 296 km, and the projected project cost is Rs 14,716 crores.

Purvanchal Expressway is a 343 km roadway created from Chand Sarai village in Lucknow and terminates at Ghazipur. It scores through vital districts like Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Mau and Ambedkarnagar. It also endorses religious tourism in cities like Varanasi, Ayodhya and Gorakhpur. 

Narmada Expressway is an 8-lane deliberate highway project that will run along the popular Narmada River and will join the east-west route in the state of Madhya Pradesh. This greenfield expressway project links Amarkantak in eastern MP with Jabalpur, Alirajpur, and Dindori in Western MP. The motorway will attach Gujarat state and Chhattisgarh. A new stage of the highway will be erected to link Ahmedabad and Alirajpur. 

Most of these expressways beat the present record of the Agra-Lucknow Expressway - the longest at present. These expressways will confidently help get India’s road network to the first or second situation in the world. Also, these projects will help to improve the economy of the country.
